About Carola

Carola is an experienced yoga therapist, yoga teacher and neuroscientist. She has worked over 2,000 hours with private clients of all ages, abilities, and attitudes, several yoga studios in London and online on InsightTimer.

Carola is completing a PhD in Neuroimaging Research, looking at the psychoneuroimmunology of yoga nidra in stress and depression at King’s College London. She has an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience with Distinction from King’s College London. She was awarded two Henry McIlwain Prizes for The Best Overall Student and Best Dissertation. During her MSc, she conducted clinical research investigating yoga’s effects on mental health and attachment.

Carola's style is eclectic, fluid, and curious, yet she creates a safe space to promote a deep sense of inquiry and inward observation.

Carola discovered yoga in her mid-twenties, initially attracted by the physical side of the practice to ease stress and tension. She grew up in Italy, where she practised judo, diving, and rhythmic gymnastics. At 16, she was eager to learn about new cultures and languages and spent a year as a foreign exchange student in the US.

This experience proved her curiosity and eagerness to learn. She moved to London in 2010 to study International Relations and Social Policy and Development at the London School of Economics. Since then - she has lived in China, developed a charity in Rwanda, and become a successful Growth Hacker in London's start-up scene. Yoga has helped her deal with stress in a fast-paced, competitive environment.

She has been practising ashtanga, vinyasa, yin, restorative, power, kriya, and kundalini yoga for the past eight years. Her practice has greatly changed since her early days: the in-depth studies of Meditation and Yoga Therapy have transformed how she understands herself and deepened a sense of self-care. She adopts a somatic approach to her teaching and therapy work; the work of Susanne Lahusen and Mark Stephens has inspired her.

Carola is grateful to her teachers for teaching her to unleash her inner potential. She shares her love for yoga, neuroscience, philosophy, and psychology in group and private classes.
